Peering into cliff swallow nests with a cliff swallow expert in Nebraska; snooping through a medieval castle in Wales; gazing in awe at Michelangelo’s Pieta in the Vatican. Experiences such as these inform all my teaching, writing, presentations, and workshops.
With a degree in education and 30+ years’ experience, my goal is to make subjects come alive for groups of all ages. I’ve taught Christian history from elementary and high school ages to adults, presenting the big picture, from Christian history to science, the arts and world events.
I’ve spent hours in studio art classes and in art museums, such as Florence’s Uffizi, London’s National Gallery, NYC’s Metropolitan, and big and small art museums from Boston to San Francisco. I taught studio art and art history in a Christian school and continue to teach these in homeschooling groups, summer programs, and to adults.
As an author with articles published for adults and children, I enjoy helping students learn to be better writers.
I also mentor teachers, either one-on-on or in larger groups, helping them learn lesson planning and implementation, class management skills, and how to engage students.
Art for Children
I taught studio art and art history for years to grades K through 12 in a Christian school and continue to teach these in homeschooling groups and summer programs.
